Automated Railway Condition Monitoring

As Boston’s busiest train station prepares for a four-year project to construct a 51-story building directly over the complex, monitoring their assets was at the forefront of their minds. Feldman Land Surveyors selected the sensemetrics platform to automate bussed tiltmeters from RST Instruments Ltd. to monitor the tracks in locations not feasible for traditional survey methods. The automated sensors paired with sensemetrics’ connectivity and Cloud data management platform allows all parties to have near-real time data and automated alerting for the performance of the tracks before and during construction.
