Scalable Monitoring Platform for LADWP

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) required a scalable monitoring platform to be swiftly deployed at one of their reservoirs.

The monitoring system needed to provide near-real time data using weather stations, cameras, and other sensors to collect information addressing modern-day Dam Safety Applications. The project team at Stantec had two weeks from project award to fully commission the monitoring system. As a result, Stantec and the Owner selected sensemetrics’ broadband connectivity devices (Threads) to support an array of solutions from In-Situ, Geokon, and Vaisala.

Stantec leveraged the sensemetrics wireless plug-and-play solution to perform all installations. They had the system fully configured in less than two days with sensor data streaming to the secure sensemetrics cloud platform providing immediate visualizations, insights, and analysis on day one.
